of Mark. Sometimes the order of the pericopes has been the focus of attention, and on other occasions the prominent issue has been the Matthew-Luke agreements against Mark in the triple tradition. Clearly, the key question and major stumbling block for acceptance of the two-source hypothesis, however, involves the issue of the various Matthew-Luke agreements against Mark. If these agreements “require” that Luke knew (used) Matthew, then both the Q hypothesis and the priority of Mark become questionable.
